The reconstruction of medieval wind instruments and their techniques is one of Raúl’s main interests and activities. At the moment he is developing reconstructions of early 13th-century bagpipes (musae) in collaboration with the Obradoiro de Gaitas Seivane, and different kinds of Romanesque panflutes (frestels) with the luthier Gonzalo Pieters. Raúl is a member of the medieval music ensembles Magister Petrus, Razos de Trobar, and Ars memoriae de Salas.
